Belonging: New Castle
Visioning Meeting
It is our philosophy that political power should rest with every one of us, to make our community better and to shape it to fit us, not the other way around. We believe a new movement is needed to give our community members an inspiring, collaborative, results-oriented way to engage and turn their values into relevant action that makes a difference in our town.
Our goals include working together on LOCAL issues to:
Build a nonpartisan coalition of residents who want to effect change and see progress in this town
Create a community where everyone can feel like they belong
Educate the community at large on relevant issues, organizations and resources
Reach across barriers to foster understanding and engage respectfully
Identify, support and help to elect local office holders who share our principles
Join us for our first in person meeting on Thursday June 6 at 6PM at the Gedney Park Pavilion. Our agenda for this meeting will be to identify a small number of mutually agreed-upon, local initiatives that we can collaborate and work toward. We can’t solve the issues of world peace. But we can make our own town more accepting, more accessible, and safer for all who live here. We are here, therefore we Belong.
To locate the Pavilion, simply drive straight back past the pond; you will see the pavilion on your left hand side as indicated in the green circle on the map. There is plenty of parking nearby. Feel free to bring a picnic or snack, for yourself or to share. Beverages will be provided.
We hope to see you there!
